This is a personal blog. I'm a fan of Whedon, the Kripkeeper, RTD, and Gaiman. I'm a would-be librarian who watches too much tv and loves music. Ask me anything.

top 5 shows i love for personal reasons, in chronological order: 1. Joan of Arcadia

Joan: Are you being snippy with me? God is snippy.
God: Let me explain something to you, Joan. It goes like this: I don’t look like this; I don’t look like anything you’d recognize. You can’t see me. I don’t sound like this; I don’t sound like anything you’d recognize. You see, I’m beyond your experience. I take this form because you’re comfortable with it; it makes sense to you. And if I’m snippy, it’s because you understand snippy.

This was the first show I chose. Right from the first promo I saw for it, I decided to give it a chance. And I promptly fell in love with it. I got my whole family watching it. It was a beautiful story about a girl who didn’t really know who she was or what she was doing with her life and all the while her family was in this crummy situation. And suddenly someone tells her he’s God and starts giving her tasks. Get a job. Take AP Chem. Join cheerleading. And they’re not things she wants to do. But every time she does something, the pieces fall into place. She gives her brother the inspiration he needs, or she saves her own life, or she saves someone else’s, or she simply touches someone’s life in a way they needed. This will forever be one of my favourite shows. It showed me that no matter how many times you may screw up, or how lost you may feel, you should still take chances, because even the most ‘insignificant’ person can make an impact where it counts.

Joan: I’m not religious, you know.
God: It’s not about religion, Joan. It’s about fulfilling your nature.
Joan: Oh. Well, I definitely haven’t done that.
God: Exactly.
